De-assemblage and re-assemblage in a close site.
Description of the interventions:
The temple of Philae was totally submerged by water when in the ' 60 the dam of Aswan was constructed. Fortunately the Egyptian temple was saved by a joint operation between the government and the UNESCO.
-1970-1980:
The entire island has been encircled by a dam and its inside was dried by pumps.
-1980:
The temple was taken apart, piece by piece (45.000 blocks), then, later reassembled in the island of Agilka. The monuments were made by superposed blocks with a very limited amount of mortar.
The entire plan developed along ten years and has saved one of the most beautiful Egyptians temples from the sure destruction.
